John Rank Gallery

The exhibition is a collection of over 30 paintings in acrylic inspired by wild, domestic animals and birds, celebrating thirty years of art through the eyes of accomplished artist Helen Dowse.

The exhibition has been several years in the planning and will showcase a variety of paintings reflecting her passion for animals, birds and art.  Helen’s paintings are realistic in their approach, coupled with an air of creativity. She particularly enjoys painting in a chiaroscuro style using the strong contrasts between light and dark.  Helen strives to capture a ‘moment in time’ otherwise unnoticed. She feels awe and wonderment in so many things around her which in turn inspires her to race to capture those precious moments onto paper.

Helen’s artwork has been widely exhibited in London at the Mall Galleries; the Society of Feline Artists at the Llewelyn Alexander Gallery; the Society of Fine Graphic Artists at the Menier Gallery as well as numerous venues in Hampshire. Her paintings are held in private collections throughout the UK; Norway; America and Australia.
