Min Maude - It’s all about me! Sins of old age

Oxmarket are delighted to welcome Min Maude in the John Rank Gallery for a 2 week exhibition ‘It’s all about me! Sins of old age’. After graduating with a degree in Theatre Design, Maude BA (Hons), NOA spent almost twenty years working in theatre and film. During this time she collaborated on productions for some of the industry's most celebrated directors and actors, including Kenneth Branagh, Derek Jacobi, Judi Dench, Jeremy Irons, Barry Humphries and Meryl Streep. This experience developed a deep understanding of storytelling, atmosphere and visual composition, influences that continue to shape her artistic practice today.

Although drawing and painting have always been a lifelong passion, Maude returned to painting full-time in recent years. Working primarily in mixed media and acrylic, she creates richly textured, semi-abstract landscapes that capture the mood and memory of a place rather than its literal appearance. Inspired by the changing colours, forms and light found in nature, her work explores the emotional connection between landscape, memory and time.

Travel is central to her creative process. Rather than depicting specific locations, she draws inspiration from maps, journeys, guidebooks and personal recollections, allowing each painting to evolve intuitively. Through layers of colour, mark-making and texture, her work invites viewers to discover their own narratives within the landscape.

Maude's paintings have been exhibited in venues including West Dean House, Arundel Gallery Trail, The Joe Show Art London and The Montfichet Gallery. Her work has also been accepted for the National Open Art Exhibition and can be found in private and corporate collections.
