Creating Ripples brings together a group of artists connected through friendships, shared experiences and the vibrant creative community of West Sussex.

Photographer Paul Vincent, based in Felpham since the late 1970s, draws inspiration from the Sussex coast and South Downs. His work explores both landscape and abstraction, finding beauty in reflections, patterns and the textures of weathered materials. The exhibition brings together artists Paul has met through exhibiting locally and volunteering at Oxmarket, showcasing the diverse ways artists respond to landscape, materials and their surroundings.

Su-Peta Cloud – Ceramics and painting inspired by nature, the sea and changing seasons.

Collette Batho – Silver, gold, mixed media and expressive painting, combining texture, colour and individuality.

Ruth Knight – Ceramics and natural materials exploring decay, imperfection and weathering, with sustainability at the heart of her practice.

Simon Smith – Imaginative furniture and sculpture created from vintage and discarded materials.

Sarah Duffield – Vibrant, re-imagined Sussex landscapes inspired by colour, light and the changing moods of the South Downs.

Laurie Avadis – Expressive paintings exploring nature, human interaction and changing environments through colour, movement and energy.

Rosemary Jones – Reduction linocut prints inspired by the sea, countryside and landscapes of West Sussex.

Sarah Reffitt – Colourful, vibrant artwork created to bring beauty and energy into the home, alongside her work as a fine art curator.

Robin Field – Atmospheric photography that transforms real places through blur, colour and texture, exploring memory and perception.

Together, the artists celebrate the diversity of contemporary creative practice and the friendships and connections that make West Sussex’s arts community so special.
